Wrapped Rock, Shungite Donut, Natural Cane, Gray With Brown Spots

This rock with a 30mm black shungite donut was wrapped by Betsy Bauer Studio in Santa Fe, NM. She is known for her WrappedRockz.

This particular gray rock has some naturally occurring brown spots!

Inspired by the drama of the primal rock landscape of the Southwest and her Zen Buddhist practice, artist Betsy Bauer crafts her wrapped rock sculptures using stones she hand selects from ancient dry riverbeds in New Mexico and from far flung places she visits on her travels.

In her studio, Betsy wraps each specimen in natural cane, fusing ancient Japanese basketry techniques with contemporary design elements from the Southwest.
